We have added Tanggula X5 2023 edition Android streaming devices to our lineup!
It functions as a complete Chrome PC, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and powered by an Amlogic S905X4 processor. We’ve been using it in our storefront for about a month now, and have been mostly impressed by its performance; the video quality is excellent and the interface response is snappy. Setup did take a little effort and there were a couple tricks to get it to work 100%, but nothing difficult to get past. The TAstore app, once installed, provides more viewing options than we could ever go through, and the navigation is relatively straightforward.
It has full access to the Android Play store, so the usefulness of this device don’t stop at streaming media. Hook up a wireless keyboard and mouse and use it for anything you want.
There is a slight learning curve for a few of the devices quirks, however. There is so much to choose from, that in order to quickly get back to channels you like, you’ll want to add them to your favorites, but the process to add channels to that list is not easily accessible. And sometimes switching to full screen from previewing a channel requires going back to the channel list and selecting the channel again.
Overall, for $349 and no subscription, it’s a great deal. With the average cable TV bill starting at $50-$60, this pays for itself pretty quickly, and it includes so much more content than cable does. Add to it the fact that it’s got full Android capabilities, and it’s a steal.
